ZHITKOVICHI FORESTRY

"Zhitkovichi leskhoz" was established in 1936. In recent years, as a result of the accession of land from other landowners, the area of forestry became 101.8 thousand ha. together with 10 forestry districts: "Bereznyanskoye", "Milevichskoye", "Leninskoye", "Zalyutichskoye", "Belovskoye", "Ludenevichskoye", "Lyakhovichskoye", "Yurkevichskoye", "Khvoykovskoye" and "Zhitkovichskoye". The forestry has the following functions:

reforestation on deforested areas
cultivation of forest plantations
protection of forests against fires and illegal felling
protection of forests against pests and diseases
monitoring of radiation situation, radiation and ecological monitoring
managing and control of forestry and hunting
. Thanks to its geographical location, rich flora and fauna state forestry enterprise "Zhitkovichsky leskhoz" takes a special place among forestry enterprises in the Republic of Belarus. In the northern part of Zhitkovichi district there are hunting grounds. "The house of the hunter "Chervone" is a popular place among the lovers of the nature rest. The convenient geographical location, comfortable accommodation and convenient accessibility in any weather conditions and at any time of year make the recreation base a great place for hunting, fishing and recreation. The variants of the excursions are the historical and ecological and bus tours which last for 3 hours and 30 minutes. The visitors will get acquainted with the sights of the Zhitkovichsky region from different historic periods and with the historical objects of the Great Patriotic war.
