As representatives of the business sector, the German-Belarusian Economic Club and its members are conscious of their public and social responsibility. This position is a part of our self-consciousness; thanks to active support of charity projects we try to fulfil our obligations towards society not only within the activity of our companies, but also at our own initiative.
This finds expression in the long-standing cooperation of the German-Belarusian Club with charitable institutions, such as SOS Children's Villages, as well as in one-time donations to support various social and educational projects, orphanages and institutions for the disabled in the country.
Funds for this are generally allocated from the income from the traditional lottery held as part of the New Year's Eve Ball and from the Club budget, and are 100% owned by our Club members.
Particularly noteworthy was the project in which the German-Belarusian Economic Club provided active support to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grodno to purchase a mechanical organ. Many members of our Club, our partner "Economic Club Russia" and other partner organisations of the Club in Belarus and Germany took part in the project. During 3 years, while the project lasted, an instrument of suitable size, construction and price was found in Germany, disassembled and transported from Frankfurt am Main, and assembled and tuned in Grodno.
